Our new season of social events kicks off with a cinema outing to 'The Sum of all Fears' (Panico Nuclear) at the Yelmo on Thursday (details below). Warm Regards,      Social Events For this month's cinema outing, we're going to see 'The Sum of all Fears', a Tom Clancy action-thriller that will be popular if you liked his other films like 'Patriot Games' and 'Air Force One'. Remember, everyone is welcome, so feel free to bring friends or family. We'll be waiting outside the cinema from 19:20. Our drinks at the 'City Arms' was fun last month - the pub had a good traditional atmosphere and the group had mixed levels of English so everyone was able to participate in the conversation without feeling awkward! Just off Via Augusta (View Map). A little English humour... A woman was out walking one day when she found a frog that was caught in a crystal jar. The frog said to her, "If you free me, I will give you 3 wishes." The woman freed the frog and the frog said, "Thanks, but I forgot to mention that there is a condition to your wishes: whatever you wish for, your husband will get 10 times more!" The woman said, "That's OK," and for her first wish, she asked to be the most beautiful woman in the world. The frog told her, "You realize that this wish will also make your husband the most handsome man in the world and many women will fall in love with him." The woman replied, "That's OK because I will be the most beautiful woman and he will only have eyes for me." So, KAZAM - he made her the most beautiful woman in the world! For her second wish, she wanted to be the richest woman in the world. The frog said, "That'll make your husband the richest man in the world and he will be ten times richer than you." The woman said, "That's OK because what is mine is his and what is his is mine." So, KAZAM - he made her the richest woman in the world! The frog then asked about her third wish, and she answered, I'd like a small heart attack". Moral of the story: Women are always one step ahead. Never forget that! Lydia's Top Tips Making a good presentation is never easy, but a few insightful tips can make a big difference. Have you ever had any of these problems? Question: A member of your audience has become hostile and aggressive? How do you deal with it? Answer: Stand beside the hostile audience member, so that they are not facing you head on, or even move slightly behind them so you are out of view. This process disconnects the person and they quickly quieten down. Question: Aristotle often asked "Of the presentation, the audience and the speaker, which is the most important?" Well, what do you think? Question: One client recently asked me "Sometimes my mouth dries up at the beginning of a presentation, but there is no water to drink" Any idea how to solve the problem?.
