Lydia's Top Tips - July 2003
Quotations are an indispensable aid in developing your presentations. One or two well selected phrases can, through symbiosis, create a quality presentation by lifting a topic to the next level.
Lists of 3 are especially memorable. All through history, famous quotations in all languages have demonstrated the power of lists of three:
"I came, I saw, I conquered" Julius Caesar
"Government of the people, by the people, for the people" Abraham Lincoln
"Lead, follow, or get out of the way" Anon
Here are some of my other favourite quotations you could adapt to suit your next presentation:
"By working faithfully eight hours a day, you may eventually get to be the boss and work 12 hours a day" Anon
"Victory belongs to the most persevering" Napoleon Bonaparte
"Concentration is the secret of strength in politics, in war, in trade, in short in all management of human affiars" Ralph Waldo Emerson
"A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what he wants to do" Bob Dylan
"The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind" Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
"No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of another" Charles Dickens
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure" Nelson Mandela
"A man with outward courage dares to die. A man with inward courage dares to live" Lao Tzu
