Thank you for your replies to last month's question about the techniques Bill Clinton used during his presentation in Barcelona.
4 techniques came up regularly: Rhetoric with Dramatic Contrast, Body language matched to Size phrases, Machine-Gunning and, finally, an Amazing Fact.
Rhetoric plus Dramatic Contrast
"The 11th September attack on the WTC and the Anthrax threat begs the following question of all civilised citizens. "Will our future be Catalan or Taliban?"
"In a Catalan World, we will be free to enjoy our differences as this is a manifestation of our common humanity. In a Taliban World, our differences will be the only thing that is important.The concept of common humanity does not exist."
Body Language matched to Size phrases

Machine-Gunning
"Citizens of 70 nations disappeared in the WTC including 9 from Spain. Muslims also died from Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Jordania, Malaysia, Nigeria, Turkey, Yemen and the USA."
Amazing Fact
In response to a question from Emilio Cuatrecasas, Clinton said:
"For example in the last 5 years, 3 of the 5 high growth economies have been in Africa. This surprises a lot of people. Mozambique was one of the top 5 except in the year they had serious floods."
